. . . not just a long time, actually: It's been a

of a long time since my last post, due mostly to conferences and speeches the past few weeks at the
Maguire Center for Ethics, combined with some speechifying of my own, on top of teaching, cranking out a new poetry column for the
Dallas Morning News (scheduled for this Sunday's paper), and a few other official chores PLUS

(arthroscopic surgery on a
torn medial meniscus) . . . .okay, okay -- too much information. Well, I'm back, at least until we leave for Paris to visit #3 son (with #2 son in tow) next week, which means this page will be down for about 5 days starting

Nov. 23. For now -- For a day or two, I'll be playing a little catch-up ball to get through the backlog of interesting or useful (and in some case, useful
and interesting) stuff. Stay tuned . . . .
