This is the public-health version of the saying "no good deed goes unpunished." Fewer young people's organs are available for transplant over the past decade or so, a trend that is fueled in part by a salutary trend: a decrease in the number of young people who die from trauma, according to a story in today's New York Times (no permanent link available at this time).
